What's New to Eat in Montgomery This Fall: From Pine Market Steaks to Hwy. 105 Bagels

November 5, 2026

Since the 1940s, ranchers around Montgomery have bought feed in the building at 26333 Old Hwy. 105 W. Today it serves a half-pound smash burger. A few miles east on Hwy. 105 W., a café known for all-day breakfast put up a new sign in October and now serves tamales and margaritas.

That's how Montgomery has been getting new restaurants this year. The recent openings are local, independent owners moving into rooms and suites that already existed. The two national names coming to town, Grit & Grind Coffee and Texas Roadhouse, are working on 2027 timelines. If you want to try something new this fall, the independents are where to go, and most of them sit on the same few miles of Hwy. 105 W.

Old rooms, new menus

333 Bar & Grill is the clearest example. Community Impact reported in August that the building began as a feed store serving area ranchers in the 1940s. It was public housing in the early 2000s and became an eatery in 2021. Husband and wife Curtis Barker and Angel Wiener started 333 Bar & Grill there in December 2025. The burger to order is the Big Boy Smash Burger. It's half a pound of Stone Cold Meats beef with sautéed onions, American cheese and house-made sauce on a brioche bun from a local bakery.

Casa Feliz Mexican Bar & Grill took over another room people already knew. It's at 19794 Hwy. 105 W., Ste. 400, the former home of The Patio Cafe & Bar, and it now operates under new ownership. On Oct. 5 the restaurant announced the rebrand. Community Impact covered the opening on Nov. 1. If you were a regular at the old Patio, expect a different menu. The comfort food and all-day breakfast are gone. In their place are Tex-Mex classics and traditional Mexican dishes: tamales, carne asada, flautas, stuffed jalapeños and street tacos. The bar pours margaritas frozen or on the rocks. For hours, check the restaurant's Facebook page before you go. It still uses the old Patio Cafe web address.

Two new reasons to stop in the 15200 block of Hwy. 105 W.

Head west toward the lake and two of the year's openings are in the same block of numbered suites, close enough for a burger and coffee on the same errand run.

Bamburger opened April 8 at 15260 Hwy. 105 W., Ste. 136, according to Community Impact's May report.

Sunrise Nook Bagels and Pastries opened Sept. 3 next door by address, at 15250 Hwy. 105 W., Ste. 154. Sisters Christina Delcano and Marinda Sourinphoumy own it. Community Impact describes a family-inspired concept with Asian-fusion flavors. The menu has bagel sandwiches, croissant sandwiches, croffles, cookies, banana bread, coffee and matcha.

Sunrise Nook's website lists Tuesday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed Monday. Plan it as a weekday-morning or Saturday-before-noon stop, and know that a Monday craving will have to wait a day.

New Bridge Fusion Steakhouse & Bar 759 Pine Market Ave., Ste. 100 Oct. 9, 2026 Steak, seafood, late Friday and Saturday nights

The newest sit-down table is at Pine Market

The biggest dining-room opening this fall is New Bridge Fusion Steakhouse & Bar, which opened Oct. 9 at 759 Pine Market Ave. The Pine Market tenant page lists it in Suite 100. It's also run by local people. Jason Yu manages the restaurant and David Moore is the chef. Community Impact reported that their goal is a dressed-up night out for the Montgomery community.

The menu covers steak, seafood, burgers and salads. There's a full bar and a darts area, and the outdoor patio is meant for live music. The restaurant's own site adds cocktails, wine and local brews.

What sets New Bridge apart from everything else on this list is how late it stays open. According to its website, the restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. The kitchen closes at 9 p.m. on weeknights and 10 p.m. on weekends, and the bar stays open until closing.

The chains are aiming for 2027

The national brands are on a slower timeline.

  • Grit & Grind Coffee is planning a franchise location at 15444 Hwy. 105 W., Ste. C, a short drive from Sunrise Nook. Community Impact reported in October that the filing scheduled construction from Oct. 15 to Jan. 15, with an opening planned for early 2027. The menu will include coffee and espresso, cold brews, energy drink infusions, baked goods and breakfast foods.
  • Texas Roadhouse filed plans for 20360 Eva St. Community Impact's September report says construction is projected to wrap up in October 2027. There is no opening date yet.

Through the holidays, the new steak dinner in town is at Pine Market, and the new morning coffee comes from the sisters running Sunrise Nook on Hwy. 105 W.

Eva Street, with the dog

Texas Roadhouse's future site is on Eva Street, and one Eva Street business is already open. Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming opened Sept. 24 at 19970 Eva St., Ste. 102B. It offers grooming, including baths, trims, haircuts, nail care, brushing and ear cleaning. It also sells natural pet foods and oven-baked treats. The store's booking page lists the phone number as (936) 755-5463. It's the only bakery in this roundup where the treats are for the dog.

Plan a meal around the holiday calendar

The new places are easy to pair with the city's holiday events. Here's what the City of Montgomery calendar lists for the coming weeks:

  1. Sip N Stroll, Thursday, Nov. 19, 4 to 7 p.m., presented by Rustic Cashmere. It ends at 7 p.m., in time for a weeknight dinner at New Bridge before the kitchen closes at 9.
  2. Light Up The Park, Saturday, Dec. 5, 6 to 8 p.m., presented by the City. On a Saturday, New Bridge serves food until 10 p.m. and keeps the bar open until midnight.
  3. Lone Star Christmas Parade, Saturday, Dec. 12, 10 a.m. to noon. Sunrise Nook opens at 7 a.m. on Saturdays, so you can pick up bagel sandwiches and coffee before you claim a spot.
  4. Christmas in Historic Montgomery, the same Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Historic Downtown Montgomery. The Montgomery Historical Society presents it, working with the City. Vendor registration and event details are on the Historical Society's site. The festival runs until 7 p.m., which leaves time for a margarita at Casa Feliz or a smash burger at 333 Bar & Grill on the drive home.

Dec. 12 is the longest day on the calendar. Breakfast at Sunrise Nook, the parade at 10, the downtown festival through the afternoon and dinner at one of the new rooms on Hwy. 105 W. would cover four of the places above in a single Saturday. None of them is a chain.
